Wedding Table Setup Quality Control (or Not)

Despite what a venue’s banquet/sales manager tells you about how they pay attention to detail, their staff is often just a collection of workers doing a job. Do not take the quality of wedding table setup for granted!

I remember one wedding in particular that I thought would be flawless. That was because it was a high-end expensive venue and the sales manager talked about how great they were. However, much to my surprise, their setup quality was far less than expected.

Wedding Table Setup with Four GlassesIf you stood back and looked at the room from a distance, it looked great. But when you looked closer at each wedding table setup, there were multiple problems. The table setup included four pieces of stemware (water, champagne, white wine and red wine glasses). As I looked around the table, I discovered that the order of the stemware was inconsistent. Upon looking wedding table setup further, I found a missing piece of silverware. I also noticed that the silverware, favors, menu cards and place cards were not always square to the chair to which they belonged. Furthermore, the spacing of the table setting was inconsistent, which made areas of the table look crowded and disorganized. Even the centerpiece and three votive candles are off-center and not equally spaced. Lastly, the table numbers did not consistently face the room entrance, which would have made it difficult for guests to find their table.

Although these items may seem like minor details, they are one of the many “first” impressions you will make on your guests. If you only have one issue at one table it may be fine, but when several issues at multiple tables, your guest will be under impressed.Wedding Table Setup for Bride and Groom
